Run and Walk for Birth: Help Us Raise $10,000 to Build a New Birth Center in Brooklyn
Run and Walk for Birth: Building Access, Advancing Justice
The Haven Midwifery 5K is more than a race—it is a movement to transform maternal health in Brooklyn.
Haven Midwifery Collective believes that equitable healthcare requires both access to high-quality, culturally responsive care and the ability to overcome systemic barriers that prevent individuals and families from receiving the services they need.
Haven is working to open Brooklyn’s first midwifery-led birth center—expanding access to compassionate, personalized maternity care in a safe, community-centered environment. At the same time, HJI is addressing the legal, financial, and structural barriers that contribute to health inequities, ensuring that families can truly access and benefit from that care.
Together, through the 2026 Haven 5K, our partnership represents a powerful, community-driven approach to change—one that brings healthcare, advocacy, and justice together.
Every step you take supports:
• The development of Brooklyn’s first midwifery-led birth center
• Expanded access to respectful, culturally responsive maternity care
• Efforts to eliminate systemic barriers to healthcare access across New York City
This event takes place during Birth Center Week and brings together runners, walkers, families, advocates, and community members who believe in a future where every person has access to safe, dignified, and equitable birth options.
Every registration, every donation, and every share gets us closer to our $10,000 goal.
