From the Organizer
Can you navigate the Greenway... and conquer the Gauntlet?
The Broad River Greenway Gauntlet isn't your typical race. There are no marked courses, no one to follow, and no single path to the finish. Your challenge begins with a set of GPS coordinates—and from there, the adventure is yours to create.
Using only the coordinates provided, you'll design your own route across the Broad River Greenway. Strategy matters. Speed matters. Navigation matters.
Every checkpoint counts.
Miss more than two required checkpoints, and your Gauntlet ends in disqualification.
Choose the challenge that's right for you:
Full Gauntlet
Take on the complete adventure with both land navigation and a kayak/canoe paddling section. This is the ultimate test of endurance, navigation, and outdoor skills. Bring your own boat
Land Gauntlet
Prefer to keep your feet on solid ground? The Land Gauntlet challenges you to navigate the entire course without the paddling component while still testing your route planning, decision-making, and endurance.
This isn't about following a trail.
It's about finding your own.
Will you take the shortest route? The fastest? The smartest?
Every decision you make could mean the difference between victory and missing a checkpoint.
Whether you're an experienced adventure racer or simply looking for a unique outdoor challenge, the Broad River Greenway Gauntlet will test your ability to think, adapt, and explore.
Plan your route. Find the checkpoints. Finish the Gauntlet.
Do you have what it takes?

From Endurance Grid
Endurance Grid is here to help you understand the sport, decide if it’s the right fit, and learn how to prepare. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer’s event page.
Adventure racing strings together trekking, mountain biking, and paddling — with navigation by map and compass — across a course you have to find as much as finish. Most events are raced as a team, often over many hours or even multiple days.
It rewards the all-rounder and the problem-solver as much as the pure athlete: route choice, teamwork, and staying steady when you're tired and off the map are as much the challenge as the miles.
Trek, mountain bike, and paddle with navigation between checkpoints — from a few hours to multi-day expeditions, usually in teams.
