Gears and Beers Ride for Hospice is a road cycling race on October 11, 2026 in Summerfield, NC, with entry fees from $40 to $45.
From the Organizer
The Gears and Beers Ride for Hospice is ideally situated in the heart of the Triad. This beautiful ride from The Village Beverage Company takes you on country roads where the pavement is nice and the hills are rolling. The Gears and Beers Ride for Hospice has 25, 35 and 54-mile options. Each distance is fully supported with rolling mechanics and well stocked aid stations. All Traditional Rider distances will roll-out together at 10:00AM and 100% of the registration fee benefits Greensboro's AuthoraCare Hospice. All cyclists who register by the deadlines will receive the following: well-supported and well-stocked aid stations on the route and access to the post-ride celebration which includes music, lunch, water & soda, 1 beer (after the ride—21 & over) and an event T-shirt. There will be a limited number of lunches and T-shirts available for purchase for riders who miss the order deadline or who sign-up on event day and for non-riders—first come, first serve.
Once again, this year's event will include an option to register for Dale's "BEST 35 Miles in NC" Group Ride. Dale Jennings of Bicycle Toy and Hobby will be leading 40 cyclists in a 17 mph pace group on the 35 mile route. Dale loves this route so much that he is quoted as saying, "It is the greatest 35 miles in all of North Carolina to cycle!" To share his love for this route, cycling comradery, and fun, he is putting together this group ride at our event. This will be a NO-DROP group and all riders will remain behind Dale. Riders will regroup at stop signs and all will stop for any mechanical issues. No need for cue sheets or computers. He says the only thing you will need is your bike, bottles, and nutrition. Start time for this pace group is 10:30 AM.
