Please join our first annual Friends of the Poor Walk® hosted by St. Thomas the Apostle Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Three Oaks Recreation located at 5517 Northwest Hwy, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
The Friends of the Poor® Walk is a nationwide signature event of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA. This event is meant to raise awareness and funds to support local Conference/Council services to neighbors in need.
Your participation will help provide critical funding for safe, affordable temporary housing and essential resources for individuals experiencing homelessness, as well as financial assistance for those in need.
This fun-filled event will include refreshments and snacks for everyone. Be sure to participate in our raffle for a chance to win one of several fantastic gift baskets.
Choose a 1 mile or 3.4 mile walk around the lake.
Registration is free and t-shirts will be available online and after Mass on the weekends of September 12th and 19th. A selection of raffle items will also be available.
