Freedom 5k Store

Registration at 494 as of 7pm on 7/3, we have 26 entries available! Shirts are gone but we will re-open the online store for ordering of shirts afterwards. We will have wave starts: initial wave sub 24:00 runners, after 2 min sub 28:00 runners, after 2 min over 28:00 runners, after 1 min the  walkers wave. Bring cash or check for raffle baskets!! Thank you for the over 200 folks that made it to early packet pickup!!!  

Registration at 460 as of 7/2 at 6pm so there is room for few more. Early packet pick up tomorrow at Gingerbreadman Running store in Greensburg, 12-5pm, please try to get your packets/bibs there if possible to lighten the race day check in. We will be selling raffle basket tickets at the early pick up so bring cash or check :)

Registration 435 at the end of 6/30, heading towards the cap of 500 race day (virtual entries not included), with a few late entry spots reserved for race day! T shirt store will re-open after the race!

Registration is now up to 366 as of 6/28, heading towards cap of 500. Online store to order a shirt is temporarily closed, will reopen post race & you can order till 7/8.

Registration is going great, we are ahead of last year's record pace! We will cap pre race at 500 (269 as of 6/21) but will save 30 extra spots for early packet up 7/3 & race day if we reach 500 before 7/3. Shirt sizes guaranteed thru 6/22. Afterwards, if you do not get your size, you can order from the online store. The store will temporarily close after 6/23 till the the race is completed, as we cannot order more on time for the race. You can order after the race & we will get them in mid July! We should be able to take shirt orders after the race on July 4th for 10$ cash or check to AHA and the AHA website can be used for credit cards race day as well, a QR code will be available to scan and save on the online fee.

We are ready to count down to the 25th Freedom 5K on the USA 250th anniversary, July 4th 2026! Registration will be live the weekend of 2/14/26. We sold out last year thus sign up early. We will reserve a few "heart hero" race day entries if we reach our cap of 500 live entries before race day with details to follow as we near July 4th. We had a record 516 signups including the virtual category last year! We will create a store for you to order a shirt if your size sells out. Early registration fee is $17.76 till March 31st, then $20 till June 30th, then $25, except 19/under & 65/over remains $20. We will be using t-shirt inventory on the website platform, you can choose "no shirt" for a 2$ discount.

Kids Sparkler for ages 10 & under. Register your young sprinter after/during the 5K, 10$ per kid by the soccer field lawn. Several heats will be held as kids are available. 

Early packet pick up & in person registration  7/3 from Noon-5pm at Gingerbreadman Running store (5142 Rt 30, Suite 165; Greensburg, PA). Door prizes will be inserted into the goody bags so look inside when you get home !

***Wave starts will be used again. ** Plan for race day is National anthem followed by race instructions at 08:25; 4 wave starts:  Wave #1- 08:30, runners sub 24 min pace; Wave #2- 0830 + 90sec, runners 24-28 min pace; Wave #3 0830 + 180 sec, runners >28 min pace; Wave #4 0830 + 240 sec, walkers. If you are going to "run a little" please sign up as a runner or let us know when you finish to re-classify you.

The course is out and back. PLEASE stay to right half of the trail especially in the tunnel and around its curve to avoid any collisions with potential bikers. Water station is located before the 1 mile mark going out & after the 2 mile mark on the way back, please try to get your cups tossed into the barrels downstream. NO running on train tracks please & stay on the main part of the overpass bridges. We cross one not-so-busy intersection & the city will provide traffic horses but please glance to be sure no vehicles are trying to go around the barriers.

Teams need to be registered by  7/3 !!

Awards: Top 3 male & female runners by gun time so make sure you are in the 1st wave if you're speedy!  Other awards are chip timed: Top male & female masters runner (age 40+) by chip time &  Top 3 walkers male/female by chip time; Runners/Walkers age group awards are all chip time as there are waves but all walkers should be in the final wave. Age groups: Runners top 3: 15/under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+; Walkers top 3: 20-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+; (all 19/under walkers will receive a small gift to be determined later)

Timing by Gingerbreadman Running. Race day registration at Lynch Field 7:15-8:15AM. Should the race be canceled due to COVID-19 or other crisis , refunds will be given. If race date is moved to a later day, refund is optional if you cannot attend. 

Can't make it?? Run the Freedom Virtual 5K this year, complete your race anytime from 7/1-7/31, upload your time to runsignup.com & shirt can be picked up at Gingerbreadman running store in Greensburg starting approximately 1 week after race day, check back for further details.
