Looking to run the fastest mile of your life?
Dropping over 220 feet from start to finish, the Flying Falcon Downhill Mile is designed to help you chase a massive personal best while experiencing one of the most unique road races in Colorado. Hosted on the beautiful campus of the United States Air Force Academy, runners will race down Academy Drive from near Doolittle Hall toward Falcon Stadium on a smooth, fast, fully paved course.
Whether you are an experienced runner looking to test your speed or simply looking for a fun community event, the Flying Falcon Downhill Mile offers an exciting race atmosphere with music, post-race refreshments, REAL FALCONS, and incredible scenery throughout the course. Friends and family are encouraged to attend and enjoy the event!

Course Drop: ~220 feet
Surface: Fully paved road course
Parking & Check-In
Participants should park in Lot 5, located near the eastern turn-ins off Academy Drive. Bib pickup and race check-in will be available from 2:30 PM through 4:45 PM near the finish area. Shuttle transportation to the start line will be provided for all runners.
Post-race refreshments, music, and awards will take place near the finish area following the event.
Base Access Information
All non-Department of Defense participants will receive an email prior to race day with instructions for obtaining base access. A REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or identification card will be required in order to access the Academy grounds.
