Dead Last Festival & Community Events is a running race on October 24, 2026 in Sutton, MA, with an entry fee of $30.
From the Organizer
Join us for a full day of running, community, music, food, and family fun at historic Waters Farm in Sutton, Massachusetts.
Dead Last Festival & Community Events serves as the kickoff to the inaugural Dead Last Ultra, a backyard ultramarathon where runners attempt to complete a 4.2-mile loop every hour until only one remains. Before the battle begins, we invite the entire community to experience the course, enjoy the farm, and spend the day with us.
Set against the backdrop of Waters Farm, a beautifully preserved 1757 hilltop homestead overlooking Lake Manchaug, the festival brings together runners, families, local businesses, and spectators for a uniquely New England fall event.
Whether you're running the loop, cheering on your kids, browsing local vendors, enjoying live music, or watching ultra runners begin their journey into the night, there's something for everyone.
EVENT OPTIONS
OUT TO PASTURE LOOP (4.2 MILES):
Experience the same scenic course used by the Dead Last Ultra. This unique 4.2-mile trail and farm loop takes participants through wooded single-track trails, along the shoreline of Lake Manchaug, and across the historic pastures of Waters Farm.
Approximately half of the course travels through wooded trail, offering a true trail running experience with winding paths, natural terrain, and beautiful fall scenery. The remainder opens into rolling farmland and historic farm grounds, providing expansive views and a distinctly New England backdrop.
Whether you're looking to challenge yourself on the trails, enjoy a morning run with friends, or take a leisurely walk through one of Sutton's most beautiful historic properties, the Out to Pasture Loop welcomes all paces and abilities.
Run or walk. Race or explore. Experience the course before the bell rings for the Dead Last Ultra.

KIDS FUN RUN:
A family-friendly run designed to get kids moving, smiling, and crossing their own finish line. Every participant is part of the action and earns a special finisher award.
The Kids Fun Run is completely FREE to participate, but registration is required so we can plan for participants and ensure every child has a great race-day experience. In place of a registration fee, families are welcome to make an optional donation during registration to help support Dead Last Festival & Community Events and future community programming. Donations are never required, but every contribution is greatly appreciated and helps us continue creating memorable experiences for local families.
Most importantly, we want every child who wants to participate to be able to join us, regardless of cost.
DEAD LAST FESTIVAL:
Spend the day enjoying local vendors, food trucks, live music (including two-time NBC's The Voice contestant SAM JAMES), family activities, and the unique atmosphere of race day at Waters Farm.
