
Cow Chip Classic Run/Walk is a running race on September 5, 2026 in Prairie Du Sac, WI, with an entry fee of $35.
From the Organizer
The 46th annual 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by the Sauk Prairie Community Club, is being held in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw on Labor Day weekend. All racers begin in Prairie du Sac and cross the Wisconsin River. The 10K takes runners up "Heartbreak Hill," and follows a route which leads past the Lake Wisconsin Golf course and back into Prairie du Sac. 5K runners turn onto Golf Road for a distance and then turn back into town.
RACE INFORMATION:
The race will be recorded with “Chip
Timing.” Transponder chips used for
recording will be attached to the race
bib. Please allow extra time for
pickup.
- Race starts 8:00 a.m. next to
Marion Park, corner of Grand &
Fourth, (near outdoor pool).
- No animals on race course or in the
park.
- All proceeds from the race are
donated back into the community
through the Sauk Prairie Community
Club.
AGE DIVISIONS - 5 & 10K:
- 0-14, 5-year age brackets thru 70, 70
& over for both male and female.
- Plaques awarded to winners, and
medals to 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
SERVICES & FACILITIES:
- Refreshments and snacks served after
the race.
- Restrooms and showers
