Inaugural Carl Sandburg Athletic Booster 5K
Sunday, September 13th, 2026
For over 50 years, the Carl Sandburg athletic program has had an ongoing tradition of excellence. Carl Sandburg High School continues to produce elite athletes who put sportsmanship, teamwork & dedication first. Our student athletes’ hard work and their devotion to their sport, as well as their academics, can be seen throughout our school and the community.
We have continued to provide funds through our annual craft fair in November each year. As of this year, we were able to provide 27 senior athletes with $2,000 scholarships. In addition, we have decided to pursue a yearly 5K to help grow our organization and expand our reach to our students. All proceeds benefit senior scholarships and assistance in purchasing equipment and technology for our Athletic Department which are not part of their regular budget.
This event is open to the public and will also have awards per age group. Please stay after the race for a chance to win prizes from local community vendors, including Sandburg merchandise.
