On November 15, 2023, everything changed.
A freak accident while playing with my daughter left me with a burst fracture at my C6 vertebra… and a diagnosis of quadriplegia.
In a moment, life as I knew it was gone.
What followed was months of relentless rehabilitation—physical, mental, and spiritual.
Long days.
Small wins.
Setbacks.
Faith.
And a decision, over and over again, to keep going.
Step by step… I learned to walk again.
This race started as something personal.
A way to run again.
A way to reclaim what was lost.
But it became something bigger.
The first year… we didn’t know what to expect.
Then came the moment I’ll never forget— running into the Thunderbowl with 300+
Year 2 we kept Going & Growing
A flyover during America the Beautiful.
500+ people at the starting line.
A community that showed up in a way I could have never imagined.
Break Your Neck is about getting back up when you’ve been knocked down-
Walking.
Running.
Rolling.
Together.
It’s a celebration of the resilient human spirit and a belief that everyone deserves a place at the starting line.
That’s why this race is free.
No barriers.
All abilities.
All disabilities.
