Why We Run
The Break Every Chain 5K was inspired by the life of my brother, Julius Justin Burns.
Justin struggled with mental health challenges and addiction for many years. His journey was filled with battles that many people never saw, but his life continues to inspire our mission every single day.
Today, Justin rests in Jesus, and his legacy lives on through every person who chooses hope over despair, healing over hopelessness, and compassion over judgment.
This race exists because we believe every person has value, every life matters, and no one should have to face life’s struggles alone.
As we begin a new year together, we celebrate new beginnings. Whether you’re breaking a personal record, breaking free from addiction, overcoming depression, finding hope after loss, or simply taking the next step forward in life, every mile represents the possibility of a new chapter.
