Bramble Ramble is a running and trail running race on September 19, 2026 in Sidney, MI, with an entry fee of $25.
From the Organizer
The Annual Bramble Ramble 5K Trail Run/Walk & Annual Michael J. Seaman Memorial 10K Run is held the third Saturday in September on MCC's Sidney campus. The Kenneth J. Lehman Nature Trails offer more than four miles of trails, which are marked with numbered trail posts and maps are available at most major trail heads. All proceeds from the race benefit MCC’s Kenneth J. Lehman Nature Trails for improvement, community outreach and education.
Course Description: First and foremost, this is a trail race. Trail races will have obstacles like tree roots, rocks, acorns, slippery platforms, etc. We do mark some of these, but you need to maintain awareness of the trail as you run.
The course itself is a tour of the scenic mix of forest and fields found on the nature trails. You will find a mix of surfaces: grass, dirt, boardwalk, gravel road, and pavement over terrain that ranges from flat to hilly.
If you are newer to trail runs, be aware that GPS doesn’t work as well under forest cover, and your tracking device may show you race lengths under or over 3.1 miles (within reason). Also, depending on how you run the race, it is easy to increase or decrease the distance by about 0.1 miles.
Start and finish at the Robert E. Marston Pavillion (behind the Greenhouse), on Montcalm Community College’s Sidney campus.
Facilities: Restrooms will be available at the Instruction North Building.
Awards: Overall Male and Female winners for both 5K and 10K 10K will receive unique artwork by local artist, Cheryl Meyer. Age Group winners for each race will receive a yet to be determined award. Awards will be handed out immediately follow the race, typically starting by 10:30 a.m.
Race Bling: All participants will receive medals and their choice of Bramble Ramble Stickers.
Additional Prize Drawing: Race participants and guests (family and friends) will all receive an entry into a drawing for local hand-crafted wooden furniture, donated by Kenneth J. Lehman. In past years, items have included chairs, small tables, benches, and coat racks. Must be present to win.
Parking: Upon entering campus (College Ave.), proceed past the Activities Building and Administrative Building. Turn Left (West) into the parking lot and park near the Greenhouse.
Late registration will be available on the day of the races from 7:45-8:45 a.m. for $30.
