From the Organizer
Adventure Trail Ultras at O'Bannon Woods State Park is a demanding, scenic trail race just 30 minutes from Louisville, featuring a 50 Miler (+ Relay), 50K, and 25K built around the rugged Adventure Trail system.
50 Miler & 50 Mile Relay
The premier event of the weekend, runners complete the challenging 25-mile Adventure Trail loop twice. With a generous 16-hour cutoff, participants have the opportunity to tackle the course at their own pace while still experiencing a true ultra-distance challenge.
50K
The 50K begins with a unique 6-mile introductory loop before joining the main 25-mile course at mile 2.2. From there, runners complete one full lap of the Adventure Trail loop, creating a true ultra-distance experience with all the challenge and scenery of the full course. Runners have 13.5 hours to reach the finish line.
25K
Perfect for runners looking to step into longer trail races, the 25K starts on a separate section of trail, covering approximately 7 miles before intersecting the main Adventure Trail loop. Runners then continue on the shared course to the finish, experiencing many of the same highlights as the longer distances. The 25K features a generous 13-hour cutoff, making it welcoming to both runners and hikers looking to enjoy a full day on the trails.
No matter the distance, expect rolling and technical singletrack, scenic ridgelines, creek crossings, steady climbs, and fast forest sections throughout the day.
Beyond the race itself, O'Bannon Woods State Park offers camping, bunkhouse lodging, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and nearby attractions, making this much more than a race—it's a full outdoor adventure weekend.
With well-stocked aid stations, optional live tracking, great post-race food, and a welcoming trail community, Adventure Trail Ultras is built for runners chasing challenge, scenery, and an unforgettable finish line experience.

Running off-road — dirt, singletrack, and mountain paths — from 5Ks to ultras. The terrain, not the pace, is the whole point.
Anything beyond the marathon — 50K, 50-mile, 100K, 100-mile, and timed events. Aid stations, cutoffs, and finishing as the goal.
