4TH Annual
4th Annual Turkey Trot- Robert Frost PTC is a running race on November 26, 2026 in Silverton, OR.
Before you dive into the pumpkin pie and all the trimmings come participate in the 4th Annual Turkey Trot hosted by the Robert Frost Parent Teacher Club. Whether you're a serious athlete, a walk-and-talk kind of person, looking for an activity to get the kiddos out of the house, or avoiding your in-laws (we won't tell), the Turkey Trot is the place to be on Thanksgiving morning.
The PTC is excited to be working with the Silverton Runners Club this year. They helped us design a brand new 5K-course and a separate 1-mile fun run/walk. Also new this year, participants will have the option to purchase additional raffle tickets.
The 5K Course will start at 8:30 am and is $25 for adults, $10 for students age 6-18, and free for kids 0-5 with a paid adult. This pricing will be calculated based on birthdate entered during registration. No extra coupon code is required.
Please note that the 5-K Course is not a closed course. Event route is on public sidewalks along streets with vehicle traffic and does cross commercial driveways. Walkers are allowed on the 5-K course, we ask that you consider congregating towards the rear of the starting area to allow runners plenty of space to get started.
The 1-mile Fun Run/Walk will start at 9am and is $10 for adults, $5 for students age 6-18, and free for kids 0-5 with a paid adult. This pricing will be calculated based on birthdate entered during registration. No extra coupon code is required.
Accessibility note: the 1-mile fun run/walk will take place on the wood chip/gravel path behind the school and the Silverton Baptist Church. Please be aware that there may be uneven surfaces on the course. Jogger strollers and multi-terrain accessibility aids may be able to navigate this area, but umbrella strollers and standard wheelchairs may have be limited in their use. Please use personal discretion.
Pricing and registration are live until 11/25/26 at 11:59pm. Same day registration will be available but is $5 more per runner/per event so save a few dollars and register today!
Really want to participate but the price feels a little steep? Please reach out to us at info@robertfrost.org and let us problem solve with you- we don't want anyone to miss out!
All participants will receive a raffle ticket to enter into a prize basket of choice. Prizes donated so far include items and gift certificates from:
Betsy and Iya, Langer's, McMenamins, Museum of Natural History, Wanderlust Tours, Maverick's league, Portland Nursery, Burgerville, Owl Crate Books, Ankeny Vineyard, EZ Orchard, Silverton Farmers Market, Fluffy Butt Alpacas, Top Golf.
We'd love as many Robert Frost Bears as possible to participate; students and staff of RF will receive an extra raffle ticket!
Check-in/Post-race: Please check in for your race in front of Robert Frost Elementary. Tables will be set up to check-in, get your race bib, and take a look at raffle prizes. The 5K will start just up the sidewalk at the Silverton 55+ plus/Pickleball area. This turn-in will be closed off from 8-9am so please park elsewhere. The Fun-Run will start from Robert Frost Elementary. Both races will finish in front of the school. Raffle tickets will be drawn at 9am and posted for participants to see winning numbers. Raffle winners must check the winning numbers and present their ticket prior to the conclusion of the event. Items not picked up will be used as prizes at a different fundraiser and/or at next years event.
Parking: Every year parking is snug so please allow extra time to park and get to the check-in area. The Robert Frost Parking Lot and the Silverton 55+ Center lots will be closed off and not available for participant parking. There will be a small amount of spots available at the Silverton First Baptist Church but car-pooling, neighborhood street parking, or getting dropped off (your driver can hit up one of several coffee places near the school) are highly encouraged!
Donations: Don't want to roll out of bed early on Thanksgiving? Braving the airport or I5 and won't be around? The Robert Frost Parent Teacher Club is a registered non-profit and we support the students of Robert Frost through donations. Please consider making a contribution to the PTC via the Donation page. We greatly appreciate it!
The fine details: The following things are welcomed at this event: all-ages, festive costumes, strollers, and headphones/ear buds. Please no bikes, scooters, or skateboards. Tobacco products, weapons, and controlled substances are not permitted on the RF school campus. There will be no aid station or event restrooms along the route. Restrooms, water, and snacks will be available at the start/finish locations. Event photos may be captured along the route, but no professional photography is offered.
