4th Annual Hippo Social Club Turkey "Trail" Trot

Thanksgiving morning just hits different at Hippo.

Round up your turkeys, your people, your pups and your appetite for a little movement and join us for Hutto's ONLY Turkey "Trail" Trot — a Thanksgiving morning tradition built around moving, giving thanks and showing up for our community.

Choose your adventure — 1.1 to 3.1 miles — and hit the Hippo Trails before settling in for a post-trot morning of fire pits, music, kids, community and a whole lot of Thanksgiving spirit.

And this year, we're teaming up with one of our favorite local organizations.

This year, race proceeds will support Backpack Friends, a local Pflugerville nonprofit working to alleviate childhood hunger by providing nutritious, kid-friendly food to children in our communities. https://backpackfriends.com/beahero

Want to take your giving a little further? Bring a box of granola bars on race morning. We'll have a collection basket and those donations will go directly to the Backpack Friends warehouse to help stock the shelves and fill backpacks for local kids.

THE TRAIL
This is a trail trot — not a road race.

Our 1.1–3.1 mile routes take you through the natural Hippo Trails on 100% dirt terrain, complete with leaves, rocks, roots and changing inclines. It's part of the fun — but watch your footing and come ready for a little dirt and trail grit.

Kids + dogs are welcome! Dogs must remain leashed and cleanup is required.

Strollers are not recommended. If you choose to bring one, know that natural trail terrain, roots, rocks and uneven sections can make passage difficult. Stroller use is at your own discretion and risk.

Post-Trot:

Hang around. Warm up by the fire pits. Let the kids play. Grab some coffee or hot chocolate. Find a wellness partner. Connect with your neighbors and add your thoughts and creativity to our Communal Giving Thanks Banner — one of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions.

We'll have some of our favorite local wellness partners and vendors joining us, along with a Kid Zone and plenty of reasons to slow down and enjoy the morning before you Trot off to your Thanksgiving festivities. 

AND YES, WE HAVE SWAG.
We're debuting the official 2026 Hippo Social Club Turkey "Trail" Trot T-shirt — our fourth annual shirt and one you'll actually want to wear again after Thanksgiving.
