From the Organizer
Established in 2013, Omegas of Greater Little Rock partnered with the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation to start a 5K Run/Walk for prostate cancer awareness. Both are nonprofit organizations working together to educate about the importance of early detection and promote the importance of getting tested. Omega Men across the country support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Race for the Cure annually; now it’s our time to establish a campaign to save men from being taken away from their loved ones by Prostate Cancer.
Omegas of Greater Little Rock and the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation have all come together in partnership to fight the battle of Prostate Cancer by educating and bringing awareness to the community. By working together, we are able to offer education and support to the recently diagnosed and those that have been battling these cancers. We work together to promote getting screened for early detection and take your loved one to the doctor to get screened.
Over the years, participation has grown and that has allowed us to raise thousands of dollars for the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation and our Scholarship Program. The Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation has been able to help many patients and their families from this event and we as Omegas have been able to give deserving high school seniors scholarships to help them with pursuing their dreams of attending college.
Our goal is to one day make this a nationwide event and reach more men with the purpose of conquering Prostate Cancer. We are in need of sponsors, donations, and growing participation in order to reach our goal. This is a very worthy cause that we take very seriously and hope that you do as well. Maybe you have Prostate Cancer, or you are a survivor, or you may know someone that has been affected by Prostate Cancer, We are here to help and make a difference!
