Individual Rules: Physical contact between zombies, survivors, and other competitors is strictly prohibited. Zombies may only remove flags from survivors' flag belts. Any zombie or survivor found holding or pushing another competitor will be immediately disqualified. Each participant will wear a color-coded wristband to indicate their group, and zombies may only pursue the group assigned to them. If a walking survivor starts running, a running zombie may pursue that survivor.
Survivors earn points based on placement: 1st place receives 10 points, 2nd place 8 points, 3rd place 6 points, 4th place 4 points, and 5th place 3 points. Each flag retained at the finish is worth 10 points. Rank the top male and female survivors with the highest point totals from 1st to 5th. The top male and female zombies with the most flag points, earned by removing flags from survivors, also receive rankings; each flag is worth 10 points. Zombies may win in only one individual category but may also participate in team categories, provided they register and pay separately for each. Categories include walking, jogging, and run. Participants who register for a slower division but exceed their seeded pace will be disqualified. You may make registration changes without penalty up to fourteen days before the event. After this period, changes incur a $50 fee, and changes made on the event day incur a $100 fee.
Team Rules: Each team must have a designated name, which may represent a club, group, or business. Survivor team events may begin in the same heat or in separate heats; however, awards will be presented for each division regardless of heat assignment. To qualify for awards, at least two team members must finish with a flag attached to their flag belt. Survivor teams earn points as follows: 1st place receives 10 points, 2nd place 8 points, 3rd place 6 points, 4th place 4 points, and 5th place 3 points. Each flag retained at the finish is worth 10 points per team. Top zombie points are determined by the number of flags collected from survivors, with male and female zombies earning 5 points per flag. If a zombie captures an entire team, that team is disqualified from awards. Each team may purchase or win up to two getaway passes.
