The Opening Act 5K Run & Walk Hosted by Salt & Spice Run Club is a running race on September 20, 2026 in Carmel, IN, with entry fees from $35 to $40.
From the Organizer
Ready to get your run and groove on? Join us for the 2nd Annual Opening Act 5K run/walk on a Sunday before PorchFest, Carmel's all-day free music festival. You will be "part of the show" by participating. Strategically timed with a 10:30 AM start on Sunday, you will have time to finish, socialize then walk through MidTown to the start of PorchFest, just three blocks away. MidTown is in the DORA district so if you partake in an adult beverage, you are free to walk around MidTown with the special cup we provide. Enjoy a post-race refreshment courtesy of Fork & Ale. Look for the Carmel Tipsy Tour cart on the course providing music, fun and sips along the way.
The Opening Act 5K needs a concert poster right? We have them and they will be made into age group awards with the look matching the finisher medal and official event shirt.
The course starts and finishes on the Monon Blvd at MidTown and takes runners north on the Monon, west towards Meadowlark Park then south to City Center Drive then back north to the finish.
Proceeds benefit local animal rescues as our company's mission is to support those groups working hard to find forever homes.
