From the Organizer
Join us as we race in memory of our own Nick Strub of Port Byron! Nick fought pediatric bone cancer, Ewing’s sarcoma, for over 5 years until he died in 2011. He was 29 years old.
Come run and play with us as we celebrate his life! We will have our signature 5k run/walk, and the always-a-blast Teddy Trot for the littles. Prizes for the overall men’s and women’s runners will be awarded.
5K Age Groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
After the races, wander and wonder at the awesomeness that is Tug Fest-IL. Adult entries will include 2 FREE drink vouchers for the adults.
Nick Teddy Foundation proceeds from the event benefit research specific to Ewing’s sarcoma. Additionally, funds are reserved to support QCA Ewing’s sarcoma survivors and their families as needed. We currently support/follow 15 local families. Many thanks to Tug Fest-IL and the Riverdale High School Cross Country teams for continuing support for this beloved Port Byron tradition!
