From the Organizer
Join us on September 13, 2026, at Tropical Park in Miami for Superhero Miles: A Miami Joy Project 5K — a one-of-a-kind community event where every mile brings participants one step closer to becoming a superhero.
This family-friendly 5K experience is more than just a race. Along the course, runners and walkers will pass special “superhero checkpoints” where they will collect pieces of a superhero costume — from capes and masks to gloves and other accessories. By the time participants cross the finish line, they will have fully transformed into superheroes, symbolizing the power every person has to bring joy, hope, and kindness to a child’s life.
The event welcomes participants of all ages and fitness levels and will take place along the scenic paths of Tropical Park. Professionally chip-timed by Victory Sports, every participant will receive an official race shirt, finisher medal, personalized bib with RFID timing chip, and an unforgettable race-day experience filled with energy, music, community spirit, and interactive surprises throughout the course. Awards will be presented to the top overall finishers and age group winners.
At the heart of Superhero Miles is the mission of Miami Joy Project, Inc. — a nonprofit dedicated to celebrating children with special needs and medically complex children who are often overlooked during birthdays, holidays, and important milestones. Through celebrations, gifts, parties, and outreach programs at PPECs, hospitals, schools, and care facilities throughout South Florida, Miami Joy Project works to ensure every child feels seen, valued, and truly special.
Every registration, sponsorship, and donation helps fund joyful experiences and meaningful moments for children and families facing extraordinary challenges.
Because sometimes being a superhero doesn’t require superpowers.
It simply requires showing up for someone who needs joy.
