From the Organizer
Where the Mother Road meets momentum, community, and courage.
Welcome to Stop 9: Bloomington, a vibrant city where Route 66 history and community pride run deep. This 6.6K marks a powerful point in our statewide journey — where the energy of the city meets the purpose of the mission, and where support for ALS shines brightly.
This series stands in solidarity with Enric Casacuberta, who is running the entire Illinois stretch of Route 66 solo to honor those living with ALS. At each stop, participants join Enric for a 2.1‑mile shared “Sidekick” segment — a symbolic reminder that no one travels this road alone. Bloomington is one of the most uplifting meet‑up points, where community support surges and the mission gains momentum.
