From the Organizer
A quiet stretch of the Mother Road with a powerful message of solidarity.
Welcome to Stop 12 of the Solidarity Sidekick Down Route 66 series — a 6.6K run/walk through the small but mighty village of Williamsville, where the Mother Road cuts through open sky, clean pavement, and the kind of Route 66 simplicity that feels timeless. This stop is all about authenticity — no frills, no clutter, just the road, the shield, and the community that stands behind the mission.
This series also stands in solidarity with Enric Casacuberta, who is running the entire Illinois stretch of Route 66 solo to honor those living with ALS. At each stop, participants join Enric for a 2.1‑mile shared run, a symbolic “sidekick” segment that reminds him — and every family touched by ALS — that no one travels this road alone. Williamsville offers one of the most peaceful and meaningful meet‑up points, where the simplicity of the landscape mirrors the clarity of the cause.

Why 6.6K?
