Salisbury Rowan Runners - Prediction Run 5k

August 29, 2026 - 8:00 a.m. at Salisbury City Park (316 Lake Drive, Salisbury, NC  28144).  Check in at the large shelter right above the City Park building (shelter location marked on map below). 

Salisbury Rowan Runners (SRR) - Prediction Run 5K - presented by Ralph Baker Shoes!

Back by popular demand!!!  All Salisbury Rowan Runners Club members (current as of August 29, 2026) are invited to join us!  

To those of you who haven’t heard of a prediction run, here’s how it works. All SRR member participants, any age or gender, will make a prediction at race check-in on how fast they will run/walk a 5K course around City Lake.

We’ll use the old First Methodist Missions 5K course (see map below), including three laps around the lake. At the starting line or before, any participant must remove their watch and phone and not receive any time coaching from anyone along the course. Watches, stopwatches, GPS, phones, music or headphones/earbuds, measuring wheels, sundials, etc. are prohibited! No finish line clocks will be used.  Finish times will be posted after the race.

The participant that comes closest to their predicted time will win a free pair of running shoes from Ralph Baker 's Shoes!  2nd place will receive SRR race series entry (free entry to 4 races), 3rd place will receive free entry to the 2027 Winter Flight 8k/5k!  4th place will receive free entry to the Santa Run 5K (12-12-26)!  5th place will receive free entry to the Resolution Run 5K (1-1-27)!

Door prizes include a new pair of Topo shoes and multiple pairs of Feetures socks!

We’ll have free breakfast - Chick-Fil-A chicken minis, cookies, and lots of fruit and water following the run!!

Current Salisbury Rowan Runners members can register for free!

If you are not a current Salisbury Rowan Runners member, you can register individually for $30 or as a family for $45 (this price covers all immediate household members), which includes a one-year membership in the Salisbury Rowan Runners Club (SRR). Membership in our club will afford you the opportunity to be part of a dedicated, encouraging, informative and experienced local running family. And if that is not enough, additional SRR Club benefits include a club T-shirt, monthly newsletter, volunteer opportunities, club fun runs (like this prediction run), annual meeting and dinner, and year-end awards. A 15% discount at Ralph Baker Shoes in Salisbury is offered to SRR members!!

This is a fun, low key opportunity to get together for a timed 5K and fellowship with fellow club members. Salisbury Parks and Recreation is our partner in providing this event.

Please arrive in time to check in before the Prediction 5K. It will start on time at 8:00 a.m. Parking is available at the shelter parking lot and along the street.  Check in at the large shelter right above the City Park building (shelter location marked on map below).  In person / day-of registration will be also be available.  Check in from 7:00 - 7:55 a.m.
