From the Organizer
PARTICIPANT CHECK-IN and ON-SITE REGISTRATION BEGINS at 6:45 AM.
Join us on Saturday, August 15, 2026 for the sixth annual Race for a Place to Call Home to benefit Project 16:49. The event takes place in Janesville’s beautiful Riverside Park - the start / finish line is located at the North Pavilion. Registration / check-in is from 6:45 to 7:15 AM. The first runners will start the course at 7:30 AM; walkers will begin after all runners are on the course. The event will be held rain or shine!
Professional chipped timing will be provided for all runners. The 5K course is flat and fast - a great opportunity to set a new PR. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in the men's and women's 5K and 10K timed events, along with other prizes for age group winners.
The 10K map can be found below under "Map My Run/View Course Map." The 5K map can be viewed here: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/5642414011
All registrants receive running bibs, t-shirts, finisher medallions & lanyard, plus a fun swag bag. Register before August 1st to guarantee your race t-shirt size.
Project 16:49 is a local non-profit organization serving Rock County’s unaccompanied homeless youth in area high schools and the community. Project 16:49 provides basic needs assistance and case management, and operates two transitional living homes where residents have the time, space and support to address their situations as they begin to heal, learn key life skills, increase their self-sufficiency, and prepare for independent living while completing their high school education and/or working. Your participation directly benefits our youth by providing life-changing support and opportunities. Find out more at: https://project1649.org/
