From the Organizer

20th Anniversary — September 13, 2026 | Spring Hill, South Berwick, Maine

From family fun to finish line — this is where stories are born.

Five distances. One incredible venue. The post-race Harvest Brunch that makes Pumpkinman legendary.  Not every runner wants a massive city race with corrals and crowds and a finisher poncho. If you are looking for something smaller, something that feels like it was made for you, the Pumpkinman Running Festival is it. Rolling back roads of Maine. A boutique field of athletes who actually cheer for each other. No pacers. No noise. Just the run, the scenery, and a harvest brunch finish line that will ruin every other post-race experience for you forever.

SUNDAY RUNNING DISTANCES

1-Mile Fun Run — The whole family crosses a real finish line. Includes bib, swag bag, and finisher medal.

American Pumpkin Pi 3.14 Miler — Yes, it's exactly 3.14 miles.

Pumpkin Jenni 8.675309 Miler — The distance that makes everyone ask questions. The experience that makes everyone come back.

Pumpkinman Half Marathon — 13.1 miles through the most scenic (and yes, hilly) roads in Southern Maine.

Pumpkinman 30K — 18.6 miles of fully supported running. Your fall marathon prep run or your standalone glory day.

WHAT EVERY ATHLETE GETS (all distances except Fun Run)

Custom race tee | Swag bag | Finisher medal | Bib | Chip timing + race photos | Harvest Brunch — a fall feast you have to experience to believe. Apple cider mimosas and pumpkin beer included. Fall games, and the best of autumn's bounty.

Fun Run athletes receive bib, swag bag, and finisher medal.

NEVER RACED BEFORE?

You don't need to be ready — just say yes and run. Pumpkinman is voted Best Beginners Race for a reason. Every distance is supported, every finish line is celebrated, and this community has your back from start to finish.

NEW FOR THE 20TH: FUNDRAISE FOR MEF

This year, we are encouraging all participants to create an individual fundraiser to support The Marshwood Education Foundation — a local nonprofit that provides grants to teachers and students for innovative opportunities that fall outside the regular school budget.

Since 2006, Pumpkinman has donated over $435,000 to community causes. If Pumpkinman is going to thrive beyond year 20, it has to create even more impact. That starts with you.

If you decide to jump in and do some good along the way, here's what you get to unlock:

Raise $150+ — BELIEVER A fundraiser bracelet to proudly wear that gives you access to the BRAND NEW FUN-Raiser Lounge at the finish, plus an exclusive upgraded swag bag filled with curated goodies from local merchants and partners you won't find in the regular race swag bags

Raise $250+ — BUILDER Everything above, plus a special 20th Anniversary Pumpkinman hat you can't buy anywhere else

Raise $500+ and become a LEGEND Everything above, plus Legend of the 20th recognition and special recognition in the celebration zone

And because this is brand new, we'll keep adding surprises, local products, and partner goodies to the fundraising tiers as we go.

NEW FOR 2026: THE GRATEFUL MILE

A dedicated section of the course where you run for someone you love — guided by signage, prompts, and purpose. The most emotional mile of race day.

FOR FAMILIES

This isn't just a run — it's a memory your kids will carry forever. The 1-Mile Fun Run is for everyone. Bring the whole family. Watch your kids cross a real finish line, get a real medal, and feel like a real athlete.

About This Sport

Endurance Grid is here to help you understand the sport, decide if it's the right fit, and learn how to prepare. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer's event page.

The half marathon is the distance where you find out what you're actually made of. Long enough to demand real preparation. Short enough that it doesn't consume your life to train for it. Most people who run their first half describe it as the race that changed their relationship with what they're capable of. Once you cross this finish line, the bar moves. That's not a warning — that's the point.

Race day energy varies by event size, but the finish line feeling is the same regardless. Big races keep the noise going the whole way. Smaller races give you stretches where it's just you and the miles — and that solitude becomes its own kind of fuel.

The half marathon rewards people who show up for the boring training miles.

How long to train: 10–14 weeks. If you're already running consistently, 10 weeks of structured buildup is enough. If you're building from a casual base, give yourself 14.
