From the Organizer
What better way to kick off celebrating America's 250th anniversary than running or walking a 5K! This will take place on Saturday, August 22 at 9 AM at Island Park in Mt. Pleasant, MI. The 5K will start and finish near the west pavilion at Island Park and will link up with the Mill Pond Park trail system. The finale of the route will go by Mt. Pleasant's historic cupula located by the county courthouse, as the cupula will be celebrating its 150th anniversary. We also have a 1 mile walk option which will be one lap around the Island Park trail. Both the 5K and the 1 mile walk are FREE! We do encourage donations as they will be directed toward the Isabella County Historical Society. Post-running snacks and refreshments will be provided to participants afterwards. The Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post and Isabella County Historical Society will be helping organize the event. So wear your red, white, and blue and get ready to run, walk, and celebrate 250 years of America!
