Endure Together
The Laps For Love Backyard Ultra is more than an endurance race. It is a community-centered event designed to bring runners together while creating meaningful, local impact. $100 from every race registration is donated directly to Family Promise of Greater Wichita, supporting families with children experiencing homelessness right here in our community.
Race Format
This event follows the traditional Backyard Ultra format.
• The course is a 4.167-mile loop at Sedgwick County Park
• A new loop starts every hour on the hour beginning at 9:00 AM CST
• You must complete the loop within the hour to continue
• Any remaining time is used to rest, refuel, restroom, and reset
• Failure to start the next loop on time results in elimination
• The last runner to complete a full loop alone is the winner
There is no preset distance or time limit. The race continues until only one runner remains.
Course
The course will be located at Sedgwick County Park with the start and finish near the Plum Shelter area. Expect a paved path with minimal elevation change, making it runnable but still demanding as fatigue builds. Course details, maps, and final confirmation will be shared closer to race weekend. Registered runners may also have the opportunity to preview course options in advance.
Race Day
Sedgwick County Park gates open automatically at 6:00 AM. You are welcome to set up anytime between then and the race start at 9:00 AM. Check-in will begin at 7:30 AM and mandatory announcements for runners will begin at 8:45 AM.
A detailed map will be sent out one week before race day for crew sites and other details.
Aid Station
Runners must bring their own nutrition and supplies. Crews are welcome and highly encouraged. A stocked main aid station will be available at the start/finish area.
Provided items will include:
• Water, electrolytes, and Ultraverse Supplements Proxima C
• Simple hot food options as the race progresses
• Other items while supplies last
Crews
• Crews are allowed at the start/finish area
• Bring your own tent/canopy/lawn chair/tarp/cooler/etc.
• Absolutely no pacers allowed
• This is a community-focused event. Please be respectful of fellow runners, volunteers, and the park.

• All runners who sign up before the t-shirt deadline will receive a t-shirt
