Celebrate 30 years of trails, miles, and community at the Johnson Branch Legacy Run; a one-of-a-kind race experience set in the natural beauty of Ray Roberts State Park: Johnson Branch. 

Whether you’re chasing a new PR, stepping into your first ruck, or just looking for a memorable run with friends and family, this event has something for everyone:

🌲 15K Trail Run – Take on winding dirt paths, scenic lake views, and the challenge of true trail running.
🎒 10K Ruck March – Honor the spirit of endurance and grit with a ruck through rugged terrain.
🏃 5K Paved Run – Fast, fun, and perfect for runners of all levels.


This isn’t just another race, it’s a celebration of legacy. For 30 years, Johnson Branch has been a place where miles are earned, stories are built, and the outdoors brings people together.

Expect a race atmosphere that blends trail adventure, community pride, and Run Celina-style fun; with a finish line that feels just as rewarding as the miles it took to get there.

Whether you’re on the trail, on the pavement, or under a ruck, this is your chance to be part of the legacy.

Swag

Finisher Medals: All 15K and 5K runners will receive a custom finisher medal.

Finisher Patch: All 10K ruck marchers will get a finisher patch for their gear.

Race Shirt: All participants, all distances will receive a custom race shirt.

Awards:

  • 15K and 5K runners will have awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male & female for overall and masters divisions. We will also have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male & female in the following age groups: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & Over.
  • 10K Ruck March will have awards for 1st place overall female and male carrying a standard ruck weight (male 35lbs and female 20lbs). 

Park Entry

The Ray Roberts State Park has a day pass entry fee of $7.00 which will be included in your race entry fee. 

 

Aid Stations & Hydration


The Johnson Branch Legacy Run is a cupless race. To help protect the trails and reduce waste, cups will not be provided at any aid station. All participants are responsible for bringing their own hydration system, such as a handheld bottle, hydration vest, hydration bladder, or reusable cup.


Water and sports drink will be available at aid stations for participants to refill their own hydration containers.


Aid stations will also be stocked with a variety of fuel, including peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, potato chips, double stuffed Oreos, and other snacks to help keep you moving.


All runners and ruck participants are required to carry a hydration device for the duration of the event. Failure to do so may result in being removed from the course for safety reasons.

First aid kits, bug spray, and sunscreen will also be available at aid stations.
