From the Organizer

Join us for a meaningful 5K Family Fun Walk/Run dedicated to raising awareness about the life-saving importance of working smoke detectors in every home.

Every year, lives are lost due to preventable fire incidents. Early detection saves lives—and something as simple as a functioning smoke detector can make all the difference.

Together we can Honor the Flame and Protect Every Life. Fire awareness. Let's come together and raise money to help keep our community safe. Diane Luikart lost her life in a tragic house fire. The fire began in her bedroom in the early morning hours, around 5:50 a.m. Diane was asleep in the living room and was unaware that the fire had started. She was only steps away from her front door and could have survived however, there was not working smoke detector to alert her.

All proceeds from this event will benefit:

Delaware County American Red Cross – Tragic Loss Program
Tri-Township Fire Department of Delaware County

Your participation helps these organizations continue their mission of providing free smoke detectors to families who need them, ensuring safer homes and stronger communities. Diane’s story is a heartbreaking reminder of how critical early detection is. A working smoke detector can mean the difference between life and loss.

Our mission is to honor Diane’s memory, along with all those affected by tragic fires, by raising awareness and helping prevent future tragedies.

Packet Pick Up will be held on race day starting at 7:00am.
