We are pleased to offer USPS Priority Shipping, for an additional fee of $10.00, to those unable to pick up their packet at our packet pickup and/or who live outside our area. The deadline for this option to receive your packet by virtual race weekend is September 3rd.
10K Race Description (RUN ONLY):
The 10K begins at the Main Street Plaza on the High Bridge State Park Trail in Farmville, Virginia. This out-and-back course runs in the direction of the old Farmville train station. The grade is relatively flat. The surface is fine, crushed gravel. Timing and scoring of the 10K run will be provided. The 10K and the 5K events start together at 8:30 am. Medals will be presented to the top 3 overall male & female finishers and top finishers in each age category that participated in the 10K. Categories for men and women include: 18 & under, 19 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60 - 69, and 70 & over.
5K Run/Walk Description (RUN & WALK):
The 5K begins at the Main Street Plaza on the High Bridge State Park Trail in Farmville, Virginia. Runners and walkers are welcome to participate in the 5K and will be ranked together. This out-and-back course runs in the direction of the old Farmville train station. The grade is relatively flat. The surface is fine, crushed gravel. Disqualification:
Participants must complete the event distance they have registered for. A participant who is registered for the 10K and participates in the 5K during the event will be disqualified. A participant who is registered for the 5K and finishes the 10K will be disqualified.

Recommended parking is the Depot Street municipal parking lot located across from our start/finish line. (intersection of Depot St. and North Main)
T-Shirts:
Guaranteed to all participants registered by September 1st. Extra shirts will be ordered and available on a first-come basis at packet pickup.

There are no awards for our virtual events.

The 10K is the distance where running stops feeling like a starting point and starts feeling like a sport. Long enough to require a real training block. Short enough that race day is fully manageable for a first-timer who's put in the work.
Race day energy at a 10K is community at its best — strangers cheering you by name, people moving toward the same goal, an atmosphere that solo training can't replicate. It's fast enough that you'll spend the whole race pushing rather than managing your effort.
