The event is organized by and a benefit for the Arunay Foundation, who is committed to reducing beach accidents and coastal drownings by raising awareness and educating people about sneaker waves, rip currents, and other hazardous beach conditions. Their goal is to equip our beaches with “Life Rings” and keep our communities informed about unsafe weather conditions. Learn more about their mission and projects: Click here.
As a community, we cannot make a difference without your support and help. Together, we can raise awareness and make our beaches safer. All proceeds from this event will be used by the Arunay Foundation to support their programs that improve beach safety.
The Arunay Foundation was created to transform grief into purpose—raising awareness about the very real dangers of sneaker waves and educating others on beach and ocean safety. Most beachgoers are unaware that sneaker waves on the West Coast claim more lives annually than all other weather-related hazards combined.
The rugged coasts of California, Oregon, and Washington, though breathtakingly beautiful, can be perilous. Arunay's parents didn’t know the risks—what sneaker waves were, how to recognize hazardous conditions, or what life-saving actions to take. They believe that with the right awareness and resources, such losses can be prevented.
Guided by Arunay’s light, their mission is to ensure that a day at the beach always ends with laughter—not loss.
The Arunay Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (EIN: 87-3499812). All donations to Arunay Foundation are tax-deductible.
