Friends of the Poor Walk (St. Vincent de Paul - St. Matthew's) is a running race on October 3, 2026 in Jacksonville, FL.
From the Organizer
WALK THE WALK
Join the St. Matthew’s St. Vincent de Paul Conference for a meaningful walk to raise funds for neighbors facing economic challenges. Families are welcome! Children (under age 18) must have a parent/guardian/adult who will walk with them.
This year, we’ll walk about 2 miles round-trip down the Northbank Riverwalk (IT IS OPEN!) to the new Riverfront Plaza (once the site of The Landing) and back. Those who wish to walk farther may certainly do so.
Gather with us at 8:30 a.m. at the Riverside Arts Market (RAM) between the vendor booths and stage, and we’ll start at 9:00 a.m. The Riverwalk offers some shade with some wide-open areas, so prepare accordingly: Bring your water bottles, hats, and sunscreen!
(PARKING INFO: Please note there is NO parking directly on-site at RAM. The easiest parking option is the neighboring FNF/ICE surface parking lot, located immediately next to RAM and connected via a sidewalk. The address for that parking lot is 601 Riverside Avenue.)
We encourage participants to make a personal donation and collect pledges from supporters. Every online pledge through this page directly benefits our conference and enhances our mission.
Together, let’s raise awareness and provide essential resources to those in need. Every step counts as we work to alleviate poverty and bring hope to families in our community. Join us and make a difference!
