Friends of the Poor Walk 2026 is a running race on September 20, 2026 in Newton, MA, with an entry fee of $25.
From the Organizer
Friends of the Poor Walk
Please join the Sacred Heart/Our Lady Help of Christians Collaborative Conference of Saint Vincent de Paul for our fourth annual Friends of the Poor Walk on Sunday September 20! The Walk will loop around beautiful Crystal Lake, beginning and ending in the parking lot of Sacred Heart. SVDP welcomes walkers of all ages to join this family-friendly event!
The FOP Walk will raise money and awareness for those in need in the Newton community. Our previous walks raised more than $35,000 to support the Collaborative's Conference of SVDP, whose mission is to help people in Newton and the surrounding communities with food, clothing and housing-related assistance. Nationally, the FOP Walk has been taking place since 2008, raising more than $27 million in community aid during that time.
SILENT AUCTION
The FOP Walk will once again include our exciting Silent Auction! Arrive early to bid on a wide variety of gift cards to local restaurants and business, gift baskets, offers of services, and more. Bids can be made before, during and for a short time after the Walk, and will close approximately 2pm. Winners need not be present to win, but bids can only be made onsite, so plan on being there.
Would you like to donate an item or service to the auction? Please email svdp@sholnewton.org and we will be in touch.
