YEAR 10!!!!!
When this race started, I swore we'd do it for only a year or two. But each year it's grown in so many ways, I'm really proud of everything we've accomplished over the years!
Our fun and inclusive event celebrates the Everyday Hero!! We've been honored to have veterans, first responders, small business owners, kids, walkers, runners & walkers of all levels, and awesome volunteers who give their time for their community. That’s what this run is all about – celebrating the Everyday Hero. It's more than a race!
The 10th Annual Everyday Hero is a fun, family friendly 5k Run, 10K Run and 1 Mile Walk, dedicated to the memory of Jerome Rodio, an Oxford man whose great deeds and selfless acts helped bring together the community of Oxford, PA! More than a great citizen, Jerome was a fun, adventurous Dad & legendary Grandpop! Jerome enjoyed exploring with his kids and grandkids, and Nottingham Park was one of his favorite places to hike!
Proceeds benefit the Annual Veteran's Breakfast and the Oxford Chamber of Commerce, where Jerome was president at the time of his sudden passing in July of 2016. We're pretty sure he'd get a kick out of this fun race, inspired by his good deeds.
And a FREE BEER to runners over 21 years old (and some appetizers!) at the OTE (Octoraro Hotel) in Oxford after our awards ceremony! And if beer and free apps (WHO DOESN'T LIKE FREE APPS?!) aren't your thing, come out for our epic and fun event, then head over to Oxford and grab some brunch at the OTE or other delicious, local options! Or head off to beautiful Longwood Gardens! Or maybe just buy a house in Oxford, who cares, just show up!
Gift certificates for Age Groups for the 5k & 10k Races, and since everyone loves the bling, EVERYONE WILL RECEIVE A MEDAL!
We'll also have a Kids Dash for ages 9 and under (registration not necessary)!
SWAG this year includes an Everyday Hero t-shirt, which is guaranteed for each pre-registered participant until 7/14/26!

From Endurance Grid
Endurance Grid is here to help you understand the sport, decide if it's the right fit, and learn how to prepare. For course distances, logistics, and race-day specifics, always defer to the race organizer's event page.
The 10K is the distance where running stops feeling like a starting point and starts feeling like a sport. Long enough to require a real training block. Short enough that race day is fully manageable for a first-timer who's put in the work.
Race day energy at a 10K is community at its best — strangers cheering you by name, people moving toward the same goal, an atmosphere that solo training can't replicate. It's fast enough that you'll spend the whole race pushing rather than managing your effort.
This is also the distance that builds the base for everything else. Most athletes who go on to run half marathons, do triathlons, or compete in HYROX started here. What you need: running shoes fitted to your stride, a training plan, and the race on your calendar. The registration is what makes the deadline real.
How long to train: 4–8 weeks for most fitness levels.
From 5K to marathon, running races are the most accessible entry point into endurance sport. There's a distance for every fitness level and a community at every start line.
