On Saturday, September 5th Chautauqua Striders will host the 2026 Daniel Feather Memorial 5K Race and Walk. The event raises money to support youth programming and a scholarship named after our later co-founder. Daniel Feather and Ron Graham co-founded Chautauqua Striders in 1979, and served as a volunteer coach for several years. Proceeds from the Daniel Feather Memorial 5K help keep Chautauqua Striders’ athletic programs accessible and affordable for all youth. Since 1979, Chautauqua Striders has been committed to helping young people reach their fullest potential on the track, in the classroom and in life. Proceeds also go toward the Dan Feather Memorial Scholarship. The Daniel Feather Memorial 5K is a part of our 2026 Runner of the Year Series, sponsored by UPMC Chautauqua.
Check-in and day of registration will start at 8:30 AM the day of the race. The race will start at 9:30 AM. There is a 5K run division, a 5k walk division, a separate division for Jamestown police officers, and a 1K Kids Fun Run. The kids 1k Fun Run is dedicated to Ron Graham, who co-founded Chautauqua Striders with Dan Feather. The Ron Graham Memorial 1K will start at 9:00 AM prior to the 5K.
Graduating High School Seniors (Class of 2027) are eligible for the Daniel Feather Memorial Scholarship. To be considered for this scholarship, you must submit the scholarship application by Friday, September 18th. Contact Lexi@chqstriders.org with any questions or inquiries.
