Climb To Remember is a running race on September 11, 2026 in Winston Salem, NC.
From the Organizer
On September 11, 2001, a series of coordinated terrorist attacks were carried out by the extremist group al-Qaeda against the United States. Four commercial airliners were hijacked by 19 terrorists. Two of the planes, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, were flown into the North and South Towers of the World Trade Center complex in New York City, causing both towers to collapse within hours. Another plane, American Airlines Flight 77, was crashed into the Pentagon, the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense, located in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, was headed towards Washington, D.C., but passengers onboard fought against the hijackers, resulting in the plane crashing into a field in Pennsylvania, killing all onboard.
Each year, the No Fear Battalion hosts the Climb to Remember in remembrance of the 2,977 victims of 9/11/2001. Participants are invited to walk or run 2,977 stairs at Allegacy Federal Credit Union in order to honor the victims and first responders present on September 11th. This is the 25th Anniversary of this event!
Gates will open and check-in will begin at 6 AM, the Climb to Remember will begin at 6:30.
