The Bozzelli Race for the Future is a 5k fun run or 1 mile walk in Silver Lake, OH taking place Saturday, September 19.
The event takes place annually to honor Libert and Madeline Bozzelli, local humanitarians who dedicated their lives to giving back to the Cuyahoga Falls, Akron, and Summit County communities.
This year, proceeds will support the perianesthesia team at Akron Children’s Hospital, which provides critical care to children immediately before and after surgery. In addition to clinical support, these nurses rely on comfort items, such as blankets, stuffed animals, and sensory tools, to help ease fear and anxiety in young patients during some of their most vulnerable moments.
The race is a road surface run, with some rolling hills. Check-in and registration opens at 8:30am. The 5k begins at 9:30am and the 1 mile walk will start at 10am.
Race participants will receive a T-shirt. There will be a live DJ and raffle prizes. On a completely voluntary level, participants are encouraged to bring a brand new stuffed animal or blanket for the Akron Children's Hospital.
