From the Organizer
Join us as we celebrate Ryan with the 6th Annual “All Rise for Ryan’s Run for Recovery” on Saturday, September 5 @ 8:00 AM. Known to some as Ryan and others as Judge Johanningsmeier, he is remembered for the passion he brought to building a stronger community in Knox County.
Ryan established the Knox County Drug Court almost immediately after becoming Judge of Superior Court 2 in 2015, fulfilling a campaign promise. As Judge he ensured that all parties in his courtroom were treated with fairness and respect. He worked tirelessly towards community improvement and motivated others to work towards a common goal.
The Knox County Drug Court program has served more than 200 participants, significantly improving the hope and expectation for recovery in our community. He loved his role as a Drug Court Judge and the opportunity it gave him to guide people from a life of crime in addiction toward a life of recovery.
The Knox County Drug Court Foundation’s mission is to support the Drug Court’s objectives of reducing criminal recidivism and achieving long-term sobriety. The efforts of this program have transformational impacts on family morale, recovery maintenance, and recidivism costs to the community. The proceeds from this run will further expand the positive impact of this program in our community.
Judge Johanningsmeier was a fun, adventurous, compassionate, and kind member of our community. He was a leader with vision who has had a tremendous positive impact on Knox County, and his legacy will live on in all those he served.
