9/11 Memorial 5K run/walk & kids fun run is a running race on September 13, 2026 in Gorham, ME, with entry fees from $5 to $20.
From the Organizer
The annual 9/11 memorial 5K run/walk & kids fun run started in 2011 by the family of Steven Ward, Gorham, Maine. In 2001, Steven was young, vibrant, and ambitious, climbing a promising career ladder at Cantor Fitzgerald, having just started his dream job in the World Trade Center in NYC. He was funny, charismatic, and a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend when he was so needlessly taken from us on September 11th. He was one of the best and the brightest, a symbol of what America lost on that tragic day. All registration fees and proceeds go directly to the Stephen G. Ward Memorial Scholarship Fund, awarded annually to a local high school graduate pursuing a secondary education. This event has allowed the scholarship award to grom from its initial $200 annual award to the current $3,500 annual award.
We sincerely hope you are able to join us to honor and remember all that was lost.
'Don't miss the amazing group of First Responders who complete ethe course in their Full Gear to honor the 343 of their FDNY brothers and sisters lost that day.
