Join Us for the 4th of July Freedom Run!
Kick off your Independence Day with a fun, family-friendly Freedom Run in Waverly! Starting at Kohlmann Park, participants will follow a scenic 1-mile loop across the wooden bridge, past City Hall, over the Bremer Avenue bridge, and back to the park. Choose to complete 1, 2, or 3 loops at your own pace—run or walk, all are welcome!
Each participant will carry an American flag during the run (returned at the finish), honoring those who have served our country. This is a relaxed “fun run” with no official timing or medals—just community, patriotism, and a great start to the holiday. Come dressed in your best red, white, and blue for some extra fun! We would call it a 5K - but this is America Baby!
Proceeds from the event will support Veteran Flagpoles Initiative (VFI), with the goal of funding two flagpoles for deserving veterans right here in Bremer County. Participants will also be invited to attend the dedication and installation ceremonies.
The run begins at 7:00 AM and wraps up around 8:00 AM—plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your 4th of July festivities. Come celebrate, give back, and run for a great cause!
