CALLING ALL SUPERHEROES, SIDEKICKS AND COUCH CRUSADERS!

The Lazy Days of Summer 0.5K is back! Join us at Paducah Beer Werks on Saturday, August 22 for the Superhero Stroll, an epic 546-yard adventure that will test your ability to walk dramatically, pose heroically, and conserve energy like a true champion.

Wear your favorite superhero costume, grab your sidekick, and prepare for an action-packed journey of approximately ten minutes... or fifteen if you stop for selfies. Save the day, strike your best superhero poses, and celebrate crossing the finish line without even breaking a sweat.

SUPER EXCITING NEW ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS

Create your own unique mask at the mask design station!

Buy delicious dirty sodas at the Honey and Fizz pop-up shop!

Enjoy inflatables in the Paducah Beer Werks parking lot!

NOT ALL HEROES WEAR RUN MARATHONS

Is your hero your favorite caped crusader or the person who invented the snooze button on alarm clocks? A crime-fighting marvel or your favorite barista?  Whether you're Superman, Super Slow or Wonder Why-I-Signed-Up, you'll fit right in. Capes are encouraged, masks are optional, and spandex is worn at your own risk. Suit up, unleash your inner superhero, and get ready for the most relaxed adventure in the multiverse!

Remember, it’s not about speed or stamina. It’s about fighting child abuse in our community.

LET'S SETTLE THIS

Is it really a race? Nope. Not even close. Just four short laps (if you're even counting - we aren't) around the parking lot at Paducah Beer Werks and it's over. Doesn't matter if you cross the finish line first, last, or ever. You will still be a hero in our eyes!

Adult heroes can drink free beer along the way at the hydration station, courtesy of Paducah Beer Werks. Honey and Fizz will have a pop-up shop to purchase sugary drinks for the kid crusaders!

 No superpowers required!

GO THE EXTRA MILE - SPONSOR A LOCAL CHILD

This year you can sponsor a Child Watch kiddo so they can join in the fun! Just click the gold DONATE  button on the cover page. For every $20 donation we will invite a child receiving services from us to the race on your behalf. Be sure to add SPONSOR A CHILD in the "Message to Race/Fundraiser" box.

What a SUPER way to support a child impacted by child abuse and show them that our community cares!

THE RULES…

1. Register now.

2. Raise money for Child Watch.

3. Invite your sidekicks.

4. Raise money for Child Watch.

TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK!

Did you see the part about raising money?  Get a super team together and crowd-fund for Child Watch. The team donating the most money is the big winner!  Team Captains can create a team on this site and send invites to other members to join. Or you and your team can raise money on your own and bring your donation on race day. Set your fundraising goal and start harassing friends and family for donations today!

HEY KIDS!

Get your own kid-powered team together and show your parents who wears the cape in the family. If your grown-up isn’t buying it, just keep asking. Eventually you will wear them down.

WILL THERE BE SWAG? OBVIOUSLY.

Let's face it. Other than supporting Child Watch it's all about the cool shirt and pint glass. You still get all the swag without all the sweat!

Adults

For your $40 registration fee adult "runners" get a newly designed SUPER soft T-shirt and a swanky 0.5K pint glass (to stay hydrated long after the race is over).

Kids

For your $20 registration fee kids 17 and under receive a t-shirt, and get to create their own mask as our mask design station.

PRIZES

We know your heart is in the right place, but don’t forget there is a little something in it for you too! We will have prizes for best costume, most money raised by a team or individual and more.

SUPERHERO STRIDE FAQs....

  • What if my perfect Saturday involves my bed, junk food and Netflix?  Don't worry. You can be home by noon with plenty of daylight left to waste.
  • Every time I hear the word exercise I think about extra fries. Can I do this?  That's what we call motivation. Seriously, have you tried Beer Werks’ fries? Talk about kryptonite...
  • What if I tend to stumble over absolutely nothing?  It's fine. That's what the liability waiver is for.
  • What if I typically get winded walking from my car to the counter at Cold Stone?  That’s probably just adrenaline. Be sure to stop at the hydration station for a beverage from Paducah Beer Werks and you’ll be just fine.
  • What if my idea of a hero is my favorite sub sandwich? You've found your people.

RACE DAY

We will be at Paducah Beer Werks at 10 am for sign-in and swag pick-up. Honey and Fizz will be selling fun drinks, create a mask at the mask design station, and warm up in the bounce house. At 11:00-ish we'll have a short warm-up (wouldn't want to over exert ourselves) and then it's go time! We'll send out the bat signal to start your four leisurely laps around the parking lot (relax - no one is counting).  Then BAM! POW! SHAZAM! You cross the finish line and unleash your inner hero. Run, crawl, sleepwalk, breakdance... whatever your superpower happens to be!
Prizes will be awarded after the last person crosses the finish line. Be sure to stick around for lunch at PBW and bask in the glory of your big  accomplishment. Nothing says victory like pepperoni chips and pizza.  Now that's the sweet smell of success!
