From the Organizer
The 2nd Annual “Nantucket to Martha's Vineyard Jaws 18-Mile Open Ocean Relay Swim” is set to take place on the tidal window of July 22 - July 24, continuing what became a historic achievement in 2025 when the first successful relay swim crossed Nantucket Sound from Nantucket to Martha's Vineyard.
This open ocean relay swim begins at Nantucket's Eel Point and finishes at the iconic Edgartown Lighthouse on Martha's Vineyard. The route spans the challenging waters of Nantucket Sound and is conducted according to traditional English Channel swimming rules. The swim is organized by A Long Swim and led by English Channel swimmer Doug McConnell.

Swimming events drop you into something that demands navigation, feel, and focus all at once. It's a sport that rewards the quietly competitive — the ones who do the work in the water before anyone's watching.
Open water races from 1 mile to marathon distance. Just you, the water, and whatever you've got left.
