From the Organizer
Lyndi was a little girl born with congenital heart disease. Despite spending so much time in the hospital battling her disease, she lived a full life and found joy in the little things. Her and her mom enjoyed spending time outside and running together. On April 1, 2024, Lyndi finished her battle with CHD and passed peacefully in her mom's arms at home. This is our second year running to raise awareness about CHD, honor Lyndi's life, and to remember to find joy in the little things.
Proceeds from this race will go towards Jack and Lyndi's Fairytale Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization started in honor of Lyndi and her best friend Jack to help provide hope and support to families living in the hospital. Since it's beginning in the summer of 2024, we have donated over 100 care packages to caregivers, 50 warmies to provide comfort to patients, 60 hair care kits for patients with curly and textured hair, and non perishable food items to three Michigan hospitals and two Ronald McDonald House charities. This race helps us support more families in bigger and better ways. We hope to provide more adaptable clothing, more warmies, squeaky shoes, and other packages for caregivers. As two parents that lived their lives with their babies in the hospital, the little things can sometimes make all the difference in reminding us that we aren't alone.
We encourage you to participate in this year's race in a way that brings you joy. It doesn't matter if it's kayaking, walking your favorite nature trail, doing yoga, or just sitting in the sunshine for 30 minutes, that's what we want you to do! This race is meant to be fun and you won't need to report any times to us. You will get a race packet no matter what! Because shirts are the same design as last year, just a different color, we have made them optional with an extra charge. See add-on options when you register for pictures and pricing! If you have any questions, please let us know!
