Event Overview
We are excited to invite you to participate in the 2nd annual Iyopawa Island 5K FUN run/walk, scheduled for Saturday, July 4th at 8:00 AM. After the tremendous response and enthusiastic participation we experienced last year, we are thrilled to bring this event back for another year. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Iyopawa Island during the holiday weekend. Again, the run/walk will be untimed.
Family Participation Encouraged
We welcome everyone to join us—whether you prefer to run or walk, this event is perfect for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Bring your families along and make it a memorable morning of fun and activity!
Course Details
The course starts right at the Iyopawa Island Golf clubhouse and consists of two laps around Iyopawa Island, which adds up to the full 5K distance. The route provides a safe environment for all participants, and the loop around the island ensures there will be plenty of spectators along the way to cheer you on and keep your spirits high. Whether you are aiming for a personal best or simply out to enjoy the day, the Iyopawa Island 5k offers the ideal setup for a great experience. As a reminder, the run/walk will not be officially timed.
Event T-Shirts
This year, participants and supporters will have the opportunity to purchase official event t-shirts for $10. Ordering a t-shirt is completely optional and not required for participation in the 5K run/walk. You are also welcome to order t-shirts for friends or family members who may not be participating in the event. At least one person must register for the event to order t-shirts. This will allow us to have a contact person identified for pickup.
Donations/Charity
Additionally, we will provide an option to make a donation as your entry fee. While donations are not mandatory, we encourage contributions to help support the current Iyopawa Island Golf Clubhouse Pavilion Project. While much of the project is completed, there are many remaining aspects of the project that still need to be funded, including a stamped concrete apron around the perimeter of the pavilion, and some really great upgrades to the kitchen space. By participating and donating, you can make a positive impact to this great project while enjoying a fun and active holiday weekend.
Parking
Parking is VERY limited on the island so the event is primarily for those that can get to the starting line by foot or golf cart. There are a few spots, but would suggest getting to the event early to avoid any issues or delays.
