From the Organizer
The Andrews Freedom 5k is a run/walk event for the whole family. The course goes throughout the small mountain town of Andrews. It is a family friendly event—racers, walkers, strollers, and everyone in between are welcome. Every runner will get a T-shirt, and snacks and drinks will be available for all participants.
The race will begin at 7:30am on July 4th. Day of registration and pickup for bibs and race day packets will be available from 6:30am-7:30am on the day of the race.
There will be 4 age brackets: under 18, 19-40, 40-60, and 60+ with men's and women's awards for every age bracket. There will also be awards for most patriotic.
All runners should stick around for the rest of the 4th of July celebrations.
50% of the money raised goes to the Andrews Trails (https://www.facebook.com/AndrewsNCTrails/), and 50% goes to the Cherokee Clay Food Alliance (wncccfa.org).
