From the Organizer
American Legion Dyer-Gunnell Post 180 in Vienna, Virginia is honored and excited to host our 6th annual Celebrate America 5K patriotic community event held the weekend before Independence Day!!
Join us Saturday June 27, 2026 to run or walk with (and more importantly FOR) military veterans along quiet neighborhood roads and the beautiful W&OD Railroad Regional Park. Strollers are welcome. Packet pick-up starts at 6:30am...opening remarks at 7:30am...race immediately afterward.
Meet at Post 180 (330 Center Street North in Vienna) for the race start. Parking is available onsite and best accessed using our second entrance to avoid driving through the festival area. There is a set of stairs leading from the upper parking area at the rear of the property down to the festival area.
The course is a 1.55-mile out-and-back route taking racers along Center Street North and the W&OD Trail to a water station and turnaround point at Clarks Crossing Park and then back to the finish line at Post 180 again.
Registration Fees:
$40 online until Thursday, 6/25 at 8:00pm
$45 on Friday 6/26 and race day 6/27
Online registration will remain open through race morning. All registrations must be done online.
Awards:
Top three male and female finishers...all registrants will receive a Be The One commemorative coin, a technical shirt with the race date and logo, and a reusable tote bag of patriotic SWAG and coupons from local businesses.
Our primary goals are to bring the community together on America's birthday and reinforce our commitment to military veterans. After the race, feel free to tour our Post home, which is the location of a Civil War star fort. Hope to see you there!!
