From the Organizer
The $5 5K for July benefits Penny McCaffrey! Penny lives in Vicksburg but she is the mother of our own Lindsay Barnett of Reservoir Brandon. She was diagnosed with Liposarcoma of the right thigh last year, which she had removed. This resulted in several surgeries and multiple ER visits due to infections and complications. She recently completed radiation but her last scan showed the cancer has metastasized to her lungs where she has several nodules that have been confirmed to be Metastatic Sarcoma. She is starting chemo for the lung cancer in June. We are raising money for her to use towards the medical bills and basic necessities she will need during her next treatments.
SO, grab $5 and your friends and come walk or run a no pressure 5K (3.1 miles)! ALL PROCEEDS will go straight to Penny! If you don’t want to do the whole 5K, you can turn around and head back at any point. You can even just come for support and don’t have to walk a step!
As always, walk up registration will also be available at the event!
