Lake Cane Restoration Society is a 501.c.3 nonprofit, so your race registration and any donations are tax-deductible.

Competition Location:  Lucky’s Lake Swim, 6645 Lake Cane Drive, Orlando, FL 32819

Length of Course is one (1) mile. Read below for a new Club Competition we are including with this years race! 
Golden Mile will start at 8:00 a.m. We will start in waves, 3 minutes apart as noted below:

Under 20 minutes
20-24 minutes
25-29 minutes
30-34 minutes
35 minutes and above

Cash prizes for the top three overall individual finishers in the male and female divisions:

First Place $1000
Second Place $500
Third Place $250

We’re launching our first-ever Doc Lucky’s Golden Mile Club Competition, and we want YOUR club in the race! (The individual registration fee will cover both the Individual and Club Competition - that means there's no reason not to participate as a club!)

TEAM REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 5 team members
• At least 2 women required on each team
• Add your team’s name during registration

HOW WINNERS ARE DETERMINED
We will sum the times of all 5 team members.

Length of Course and start times:
Golden Mile- 8:00 a.m. Start by waves, 3 minutes apart:

  • Under 20 minutes
  • 20-24 minutes
  • 25-29 minutes
  • 30-34 minutes
  • 35 minutes and above

Cash prizes for the top three overall finishers in the male and female divisions:

  • First Place $1000.00
  • Second Place $500
  • Third Place $250

Age group awards will be awarded to the top three athletes in each age group for each event.
10-u, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95-99

There is also a Special Olympics Division with awards to the top three men and women (No age groups in Special Olympics)

Open Water Results: This will be available after the event on-site and will be emailed to all participants after the event has been completed.

Chip and cap pick up: Saturday 6:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.

ALL ATHLETES will pick up their cap and chip on-site the morning of the race.

Body Marking: 6:00-7:30 am

ALL ATHLETES must have their race number marked on both arms.  A station will be available for the markings.

Technical meeting: A technical meeting for all participants is required and will take place by the dock at 7:35 am EDT.  Course and safety information will be reviewed at that time.

Warm-ups: The course will be open for warm-ups from 6:30-7:45 am EDT

Marshaling Area: All athletes must be in the marshaling area 1/2 hour before their allowed wave. A map showing the course will be clearly visible in this area for all the participants.

Safety: Appropriate safety craft will be provided during the competition.

Changing Area: Competitors must leave their equipment in this area.  The Organizing Committee will provide a bright-colored cap for each swimmer. Each swimmer is required to wear this cap.  Thermal caps may NOT be worn.

Support Facilities:  Limited showers and changing facilities will be provided.

Hospitality: Breakfast and water will be available.

Virtual Race Option:  You may choose to do the Golden Mile distance in the virtual swim!
The virtual event does not include a finisher medal.
