Run alongside beautiful horse farms on Saturday May 16th as you take on Run The Bluegrass!
With 10k and 5k options also available, there is a distance for everyone, so sign up the whole family, or your best friend, and make a weekend out of it.
Start & finish, Race head quarters, and our Packet Pick Up Event are at Talon Winery.
Enjoy a variety of food and drink after the race from local food and coffee trucks, in addition to Talons wonderful selection of wines.
Packet Pick-ups will be hosted at John's Run/Walk Shop Locations & Talon Winery on the following days:
Tuesday May 12th, 10am - 7pm at our Hamburg Location: 3090 Helmsdale Place.
Wednesday 13th, 10am - 7pm at our Palomar Location: 3735 Palomar Centre.
Thursday 14th, 10am - 7pm at our Chevy Chase Location: 317 S. Ashland Ave.
Friday 15th, 11am - 7pm at Talon Winery: 7086 Tates Creek.
*There is no race day packet pick-up. If you or a friend/family member are unable to pick-up your packet in the week leading up to the race, please select advance packet shipping so we can get your items to you ahead of Raceday.**
**Packet Shipping will no longer be available after 4/20, this is to ensure all advance shipping is processed and makes it to it's destination prior to the event**
*Pre-Race Deadlines*
**ALL RACERS MUST BE ON SITE BY 6:30AM ON RACE DAY**
Road closures surrounding the course will be going into effect at 6:30am on race day, you will not be an exception if you are late, the road closures are in place for safety and to ensure a punctual 7am start time - this is why it is imperative that you are at Talon by 6:30am on race day.
If you are using a ride share service please make sure you arrive by 6:30am so they can leave Talon and exit the course quickly.
*Friendly Reminder for Half Marathon Participants*
We are continuing to enforce a strict 14mm pace cut off this year- there will be a sweeper bus at the Half Marathon turning point that will begin to sweep by 8:45. The bus will have snacks & water and will deliver participants back to Start/Finish area.

The half marathon is the distance where you find out what you're actually made of. Long enough to demand real preparation. Short enough that it doesn't consume your life to train for it. Most people who run their first half describe it as the race that changed their relationship with what they're capable of. Once you cross this finish line, the bar moves. That's not a warning — that's the point.
Race day energy varies by event size, but the finish line feeling is the same regardless. Big races keep the noise going the whole way. Smaller races give you stretches where it's just you and the miles — and that solitude becomes its own kind of fuel.
The half marathon rewards people who show up for the boring training miles.
How long to train: 10–14 weeks. If you're already running consistently, 10 weeks of structured buildup is enough. If you're building from a casual base, give yourself 14.
From 5K to marathon, running races are the most accessible entry point into endurance sport. There's a distance for every fitness level and a community at every start line.
