From the Organizer
The GRRC summer picnic and membership meeting will be at the Hopkins Point Lodge at Mendon Ponds Park. Open to members, members' guests, and potential members. This does include a membership meeting, which might be unappealing to children. There are no children's amenities at or near the lodge.
The club will provide grilled items, and attendees are asked to bring a dish or drink to share. Registration will be open through the day of the picnic, but to ensure we have the right amount of food, members are urged to register in advance. We don't want to over or under order!
*We do our best to ensure everyone can eat something from the club offerings. If you have severe dietary restrictions or allergies, please contact us BEFORE you register, and we'll try to accommodate you. Please understand, we may not be able to meet everyone's needs, despite our best efforts and the dish-to-share nature of the event may mean needing to confirm ingredients before choosing something you didn't bring.
Times are approximate.
10:30 a.m.: Welcome & Check-in
10:45 a.m.: Choice of trails, road, or hybrid to Wild Wings Center*; there will be some route slips and maps
12:30 p.m.: Bring dishes and drinks to share to the buffet table while the grilled items get started
1:00 p.m.: First of the grilled items become available! Membership meeting occurs during lunch.
Throughout Event: Lawn games and tabletop activities available for those who may not want to do a workout or who may be done earlier than others. Participants are welcome to bring their own games to add to the mix!
*Wild Wings Center is free, but they are funded by donations and product sales, so please consider contributing, if you visit and are able.
